چکیده

The influence of biochars on water retention, mitigating nutrient leaching, and pollutant removal in green infrastructure has been explored the past. However, there is a lack understanding how feedstock (i.e., biomass) would affect biochar physicochemical properties hence, overall erosion control (including infiltration, surface, sub-surface runoff) infrastructure. main purpose this study was to investigate effect produced from three different feedstocks (pig manure, wood, kitchen waste) granite residual soil. Flume experiments were conducted measure analyze soil erosion, runoff, infiltration. result showed that runoff waste (KWB) samples reduced by 17.7% 21.7%, respectively. On contrary, wood (WB) pig manure (PMB) found enhance erosion. In addition, particles infiltration experiment. Thus, it important note measures should be taken prevent loss when using as amendment. Additionally, effects types hydraulic hydrophobicity into account selection criterion for choosing amendments This finds better performance improving hydraulics

Physical and chemical characterization of waste wood derived biochars.

Biochar, a solid byproduct generated during waste biomass pyrolysis or gasification in the absence (or near-absence) of oxygen, has recently garnered interest for both agricultural and environmental management purposes owing to its unique physicochemical properties. Favorable properties of biochar include its high surface area and porosity, and ability to adsorb a variety of compounds, includin...

Effect of rice straw and wood chips on Soil erosion and seedling growth on the fill slope of forest roads

Extended abstract   1-Introduction Erosion is a geomorphologic and natural process that is always seen across the world, but this process is triggered by human activities, such as road construction, resulting in a significant negative impact on water resources, soil, environment and national economy. According to the above, preventing soil erosion is an important target in the management and...

Sustainable soil and water resources: modelling soil erosion and its impact on the environment

With the projected increase in world population to 9 billion by 2050, along with per capita income growth, the demand for land and water resources is going to increase significantly. Conversion of land to intensive agriculture has led to dramatic decreases in plant, animal and insect biodiversity, with approximately 40% of the world’s land surface now covered by croplands and pastures. Intensiv...
